Our clients often ask for our recommendations around compensation in order to be competitive and keep within their budget. While we have deep knowledge of pay throughout other industries, we recognize cannabis is unique due to the recency of coming off the black market and varying degrees of legalization.
Currently, the cannabis industry is not competitive in comparison to other industries when it comes to salaries and salary planning, and we understand this is an emerging space where every dollar is being watched. The survey results exemplify why it is so important to track and share this data, as you will see some incongruous information when it comes to pay and titling.
Talent is coming from many other industries, and the majority of our candidates who have a strong desire to transition into cannabis understand salaries may not be aligned. Some are willing to take the leap regardless as there are many other decision drivers, but ideally, compensation does not end up deterring those who could have a positive impact on your business.
Our team has gathered data from diverse companies within the cannabis space resulting in a total population exceeding over 3,000 employees, spread across 49 states, as well as Washington D.C and Puerto Rico.
